Star goalie Patrick Hannigan is back for his third season with the Rochester Lancers. In his first season with the team in 2011, Hannigan led the Lancers to the playoffs and was named Lancers Defensive Player of the Year. Hannigan is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has played in 31 games over the past two seasons for the Lancers. As a Lancer he has a combined 423 saves and 14 wins.
He played college soccer at Temple University, where he was twice named the Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He was selected by the MetroStars in the third round of the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft. During the 2006/07 MISL season, he earned All-MISL Rookie Team honors as a member of his home town MISL Champion Philadelphia Kixx. In 2011, he spent the outdoor season with the Ocean City Noreasters of the USL’s Premier Development League.
