Mustache Mania ran wild during the 2014/15 season and Andrew “The Big Smooth” Hoxie had his best season ever. His 19 goals, 18 assists, and 37 regular season points placed him third in team scoring and in the top 25 overall in the MASL. He found himself on the MASL Team of the Week in Week 12 for his dominating performance in early January.
Hoxie was the 37th overall pick of the 2010 MSL SuperDraft by the San Jose Earthquakes, having impressed professional scouts at the 2010 MLS Combine by scoring two goals and adding an assist in three games. However, Hoxie was not offered a contract with the MLS team. On March 30th, 2010, Hoxie signed with the Rochester Rhinos and made his professional debut on April 10th, 2010 in the opening game against Miami FC. He scored his first goal on April 25th, 2010 and let the Rhinos in assists with five and finished second on the club in scoring with 11 points as a rookie. In 2011, Hoxie let the Rhinos in scoring with five goals and 12 points.
Hoxie attended William and Mary University from 2005-2009, where he redshirted in 2008. During his senior season at William and Mary University, Hoxie was named the CAA Player of the Year in 2009. Not only did Hoxie received this award, but he also earned third team All-American honors and finished his career with the Tribe with 91 points on 35 goals and 21 assists.
During his college years, Hoxie also played for the Virginia Legacy in the USL Premier Development League, scoring 20 goals in 42 appearances in his 4 campaigns with the club.
Hoxie is the son of Hal and Kathy Hoxie. His father was the high school coach and Hoxie has three brothers Aaron, Allen, and Austin.
