Defender Brayton Knapp returns to the Rochester Lancers after an off-season stint with the Washington Crossfire of the PDL League. In his first season, Knapp racked up 19 points for the Lancers through six goals and 6 assists. He was named Defensive Player of the Month in January 2011 for his efforts.
College and Amateur
Knapp attended Fulton High School in Washington. When he was a sophomore, Fulton was the Washington State runner-up, and finished third in the state during Knapp’s junior season.
The Sultan, Washington native played college soccer for the University of Portland. He helped lead Portland to the NCAA playoffs during his junior season. Knapp appeared in over 70 games for the Pilots, and ranks in the school’s top ten in career minutes played.
Knapp was a member of the Premier Development League’s Tacoma Tide and was a part of two Northwest Division Championships. He played with Tacoma from 2006-09. He played the 2010-11 indoor season with the Tacoma Stars of the PASL Pro League. Knapp scored 8 goals in 16 games for the Stars during the season. His head coach and teammate was former Rochester Rhinos forward, Greg Howes. He has also played in the PASL for the Snohomish Skyhawks.
Brayton is the son of Charlie and Megan Knapp. He has a sister, Mallory. Brayton has been a coach for the Washington Crossfire youth club in Washington.
