June 21, 2018
The Rochester Lancers missed the NPSL playoffs by 1 point in 2017, and this weekend could decide whether the Rochester Lancers inch closer to a playoff spot, or be sent home. In 2017, the 1st and 5th place finishers in the Midwest East Conference Division were only separated by 2 points, and this year's battle for the 2 coveted playoff spots looks like it could go down to the wire again.
There are six crucial matchups this weekend, and the Lancers take part in 2 of them. Friday night they travel to All High Stadium in Buffalo, and look to even things up with FC Buffalo, who defeated the Lancers 4-2 in a rain soaked game in Rochester on June 3rd. On Sunday the Lancers travel to Erie to take on the Commodores. They tied the previous meeting 2-2 in their home opener on May 27th.
Notes:
- Will Stone will be back after serving a 1 game suspension
- The Lancers are 3-0-1 in their last 4 games, with 9 goals scored, and only 2 allowed
- 4 players have scored for the Lancers this year: Rafa Godoi leads the team with 4, and Isaac Kissi, Lukas Fernandes, and Will Stone with 3 each
- Goalkeeper James Lepetit has keep 2 clean sheets in 4 starts
