For Immediate Release: February 5, 2021 (Rochester, NY) The Rochester Lancers of the Major Arena Soccer League, announced today that the team will not play the 2021 indoor season in conjunction with the league’s COVID-19 Voluntary opt out policy. The Lancers decision to not play is joined today by the rest of the Eastern Division teams in the MASL. “Our main priority has always been the health and safety of our fans, players, coaches and staff. With the Dome Arena being used by the state as a COVID vaccination center well into our season, that leaves us without a place to call home,” said SoccerSam Fantauzzo. “We will immediately start planning for our NPSL and UWS outdoor seasons as well as the 2022 indoor season and we will continue to support our local soccer community.” “Our players, staff, season ticket holders and sponsors have been notified earlier today,” said Kayla Kent-Moreira, Vice President of Operations. “We are thankful for the continued support during these difficult times and we hope everyone stays safe and healthy.” Contact: Kayla Kent-Moreira - (585) 590-7140 |
