(Rochester, NY) The Rochester Lancers of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) are proud to announce two more top players have returned to their 2019/2020 roster, August Finn and Jeremy Loncao. Finn has played for the M2 Lancers and both players have played for the NPSL Lancers in the past. Per league and team policies, no further terms of the agreement were disclosed.
“We lost August Finn to an injury last NPSL season but now he looks sharper than ever in our preseason camp.” said Doug Miller, Head Coach. “Jeremy was a great addition to our NPSL team late last season and helped lead the team throughout our playoff run. Both are great players and great individuals.”
August Finn, Midfield, #24.
Born and raised near Kingston, NY, 22 year old Finn attended Rondout Valley High School where he was only eligible to play soccer for 1 season. “Auggie” played for FC Westchester Development Academy throughout high school instead of playing for Rondout Valley. Due to US Soccer Development Academy rules players can’t not compete in HS soccer seasons while playing in the DA. August attended Buffalo State where he played all 4 years, was a 3x All-Conference selection and a 2 year team captain. He graduated with the most wins by a player in the programs history. Finn played for the Lancers NPSL team the past three seasons and for last year’s M2 team. In 2019 he was named the Lancers M2 Rookie of the year. He is an assistant coach for SUNY Geneseo men’s soccer team.
Jeremy Loncao, Defender, #31.
Born and raised in Rochester, NY, 34 year old Loncao attended Brighton High School where he contributed to 7 goals and 11 assists in his senior year. Jeremy was an All-County player and also participated in the Monroe County Senior All-Star game. “Lonks” went on to attend Monroe Community College and then Brockport College. He was a Chancellor Award winner at MCC for athletics and academics and had 10 goals and 14 assists throughout college. He played for the Lancers NPSL team in 2019 and helped lead them throughout their playoff run. Jeremy attributes learning the game of soccer from his Grandma who traveled from Italy every summer and would play soccer in the back yard teaching him all the tricks of the game. Jeremy is the Head Coach for the East Ridge Boys soccer team and enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah, daughter Alyssa and mom Cynthia.
The Lancers Home Opening weekend is Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30 at the New Dome Arena, and the Lancers will play a 24-game regular season.
